Labor Technical College Hosts 45th Annual Graduating Apprentice Contest

April 21, 2014

LTC Contest 3On Wednesday, April 16th, the NYCDCC Labor Technical College (LTC) hosted its 45th Annual Graduating Apprentice Contest. The exciting event not only featured competition among highly skilled apprentices, but it also served as a showcase for industry trends and demonstrations as well. Considering all the action, it was no surprise that the event drew plenty of interest, as the LTC was packed with curious onlookers throughout the day.

Without a dLTC Contest 4oubt, the main draw of the festive event was the Graduating Apprentice Contest. Dozens of apprentices took part in a fiercely competitive, but friendly contest that challenged them to complete projects in their various trades. Carpenters, Floor Coverers, Interior Finishers, Millwrights, Timberman, Dockbuilders, and Cabinetmakers had their chance to display all of the skills they had learned at the LTC over the last four years. The results were magnificent, as the contest undoubtedly showed the brilliant craftsmanship of the graduating class.

LTC Contest 2Although all apprentices who participated in the event are skilled winners and will undoubtedly become respected professionals, contests do need to have first place winners declared, no matter how difficult that determination may be. That being said, the NYCDCC Benefit Funds would like to send out a special congratulations to the following FIRST PLACE winners.

  • James Sackaris, Local 45, Carpentry
  • Lofti Annahir, Local 2287, Floor Coverer
  • Fabio Goncalves, Local 157, Interior Finish
  • Kyle Robert Wilcox, Local 740, Millwright
  • Grzegorz Tracz, Local 2790, Cabinetmaker
  • Michael Ruic, Local 1556, Timberman (Participation)
  • Orlando Camacho, Local 1556, Dockbuilder (Participation)

Congratulations to all!
